So before I flew into Jakarta, Indonesia, I wanted to hangout with couple of Malaysian bloggers friends and was looking at a few restaurant where we can just sit and talk and just going bout updating our lives. I was feeling for Mediterranean food and as I was about to book a restaurant, I found Corona Del Mar and it’s in Kota Damansara- which was perfect meeting for everyone!
So booking was easy, Melissa the floor manager was friendly and when I told her that we got trapped in the storm and would be REALLY late, she was accommodating (I feel bad because am so used to Japanese style of timing). When we arrived, the first thing I on my mind was this place is classy and I am so under-dress!
Everyone made in time for dinner, and it was a bit weird for me because I’ve been a way for a while and I’ve not met anybody from the Malaysian blogging industry. Kaio and Halim are well know Malay bloggers who are on the rise and it was a privilege getting a chance to hangout with them. I also dragged my Qistina and Aemi whom I made friends while working in the English Summer Camp in Hakuba, Japan. Perfect timing as Aemi just arrived and I was about to leave- we got to hangout for a bit! 😀
So, lets talk about dinner! We started of with Corona Del Mar’s starters, since I am in the process of turning vegan, I found that they do and can cater to vegan diet. We had Sautéed Mushrooms, Sizzling Tiger Prawns, Mozzarella in Carrozza, and Home Cooked Wild Mushroom Soup. I personally love the Sauteed Mushrooms and I even wiped clean the plate with bread! The rest of the appetisers went off quickly! Everyone else loves the Mozzarella in Carozza, if only I can eat Milk/lactose ever again in my life!
We then ordered our maincourse, this is where Aemi and I had a bit of problem but since I didn’t mind that much, we ordered Corona Del Mar signature dish – the Seafood Paella (Paella DeMarisco). I love the flavour and the abundance of seafood in just one Paella. This is meant to be shared with 3-4 people. If you are a big eater, by all means, eat it all! 😀
For the meat eater, they ordered Charred Grilled Moroccan Chicken, Rissotto Pollo Ai Funghi, and Moussaka, a classic greek dish made with eggplant and lamb. They look on their faces when they ate it says it all. The smell was good and from the look of it, I bet it was delicious!
Everyone was happy with the dinner, am glad I chose Corona Del Mar in Kota Damansara! The food is delicious, the staffs are friendly and the owner, Alex was so humble with his restaurant! 😀
Thank you Kaio and Halim for coming down, till next time, whenever I am in Malaysia, we should totally do this hangout sessions! To Corona Del Mar, thank you for having us and for the amazing food and service. I would definitely comeback! 😀
Till then, travel safe. 😀
