Did I mention that I was glad I survived my solo flight to Kelantan? The fear was gladly replaced with excitement as I checked-in into my hotel in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Am usually only used to dorms and guesthouses, but I have to tell you that Grand Riverview Hotel is topnotch!

Build by the riverside of Sungai Kelantan, this 5-Star hotel is one the best hotels in Kelantan. Providing quality services for reasonable prices. I gladly shared my room with GayaTravel(an English travel mags) reporter, Adam.

There was briefing from the Tourism Malaysia Kelantan team about the program and our movement throughout the 4 days.

Boyyyy… the Director of Tourism Malaysia Kelantan is very very very YOUNG LADY!I was surprised and whatmore she followed me on twitter and Instagram! Very humble indeed. 🙂

Too bad for me as I fell asleep on my comfortable bed till a few minutes before breaking fast. So I missed out the first few visits they have planned! They said it was awesome seeing the Ramadhan Bazaar as it is different from any other states.

I strived to stay awake though my body literally told me to sleep due to the long long journey from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur! I didn’t want to miss out eating “colek”, a special eating-occasion by Kelantanese after Terawikh during this Ramadhan month. We were brought to Perdana Resort to experience “Colek”.

“Colek” usually consist of Tempura seafood, vegetable fritters, pickled fruits, fresh fruits and their special condiments. It was something new for me to be eating “colek”! I think I savoured more than a kilogram of squid! Now, where is my treadmill?! 😛

It was a long day for me, I slept like a baby that night!More stories from my adventure in Kelantan for “Ihya Ramadhan” by Tourism Malaysia Kelantan!Till then…keep on traveling peeps! 😀

I would like to thank Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia Kelantan for inviting me. You guys ROCK!

  1. haries, i am a silent reader of your blog, been so for quite a while now and i must say it is very interesting. makes me jealous i don’t have the opportunity to backpack even around malaysia as you did.

anyways, dont know if it’s just me but your blog is quite in disarray. the chatbox and ads overlaps with the blog post so it’s really hard to read. do fix them soon, okay.
