Overland Trip Thailand: Sawadee krup Krabi!

After the grueling traveling overland all the way from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, am finally here in Krabi, Thailand! Woot2! Took me almost 20 hours ( 2 days) from a train ride from KL Sentral to Hat Yai, and bus ride from Hat Yai to Krabi. Jauh perjalanan membawa diri eh rayyan? haha :D

Yours truly, with heavy backpacks! =.="
So, I stayed at Pak Up Hostel, Utarakit Rd. It's situated in Krabi town, very quiet and peaceful town. It's not expensive. I paid 220 Baht per nite in air-condition room! Though no breakfast is included, you'll have easy access to food. Everything is just  walking distance.  Even makanan halal pon dekat. Riverside lagi! ;)

The room, I took the lower bunk and yeah the messiest one. haha
The common room with bean bags! me want one!
Honestly, this hostel is not bad. Boleh kata semua tip top and I seriously recommend to fellow backpackers and backpacker wannabe!

Yummy mini crispy pancake! rinduuuu..
So untuk dinner malam tu, I headed to the riverside to experience real thai food! And seriously one of the best I have ever had. And they serve halal food! Makanan kat krabi riverside ni tak mahal, between 5Baht to 60Baht.

Roti canai thai, no curry2 okay! haha...sweet nutella! Kelas ko jah, tepi jalan pakai nutella.
After dinner, misi mencari package Krabi Island hopping termurah ter-cheapskate pon bermula. Sebab memang peak season, farangs flocking Thailand, alkisahnya all packages became very very very lah expensive! T_T

Last2 dah pusing jumpa minah dua orang ni! Dah lah super friendly, Jenny and Patty gave me the best rate in Krabi. Island Hoping around Andaman Sea for me was only 1050 Baht! Wuhuuuuuuuuu.... bila sembang2 with other backpackers semua kena over 1200 Baht! erkk... some even paid up to 2000 Baht for the same trip. Homaigod kan?

Ni lah diorang siap suruh duk sana kerja ngan diorang coz I speak good english and malay!LOL
Malam tak buat apa2 sangat, boleh tak aku dpt super duper nightmare sampai jerit2 dalam dorm tu! =.=" hilang machooooo... habis semua orang terjaga. Everyone asked me if I'm okay and aku dengan segannya turun gi common hall..haha.

It was 3am and well bangun terus lapar beb! Gi 7-11 and ada makanan halal! Yeah!!! Lega gila boleh mamam ayam + pulut and instant noodle pagi2 tu..hehe

So nanti kita sambung lagi eh backpacking stories on the Overland Trip Thailand! Keep traveling peeps! :D

SelangorLicious Eat Out : Mee Ketam Seksyen 7, Shah Alam!

Well, last sunday I was invited to attend Selangorlicious Eat Out! Okay 1st sekali, boleh lah tengok video kat bawah ni untuk process "pe-lapar-an" anda bermula! I bet you are gonna take your keys and drive yourselves to Mee Ketam, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam!

We were taken to Mee Ketam KL! Restaurant ni sgt famous! Well, aku dah pernah pergi sebelum ni tapi didn't get to try every thing lah. So I was given the chance to order ANYTHING I would like to have! Haha...silap besar lah! memang aku order semua benda ni..hihi..kata Foodie sejati kan? ;)

The food is not that expensive and money-well-spent!

Makan bersama retis2 Malaysia hari ini YanaYassin, Pen Merah and Ibu! ;)

Kari Ketam with Rice! The piquant taste of the curry complements well with the fresh crab. Not only the crab was meaty, the bowl was filled with some fishcakes, meriah gila mangkuk tu!

Ni pulak is the Mee (Noodle) version. Same broth, same ingredients except this eaten with  the delicious yellow noodles. The broth covers the noodles perfectly! With fresh scallions, hard-boiled egg and tofus, sumpah out of the world!

And of coz the most subtle Lai Chee Kang I have ever had! I heard they have a secret ingredients. Psst: orang pompuan sure suka. Dalam ni ada collagen tau! Pergh ni bukan Lai Chee Kang biasa2! Memang keluar2 kedai muka semua muda balik! hihi

Well, as you can see in my video. Ini lah raja segala udang! Diterbangkan khas dari Kota Kinabalu, Sabah! Dengan kuah yang mantap, memang terbaik lah! I adore the chef who cooked this! *Applause*

Next Invasion; Laksa + Cendol!

Next we invaded a laksa + cendol stall nearby. terkejut beruk kau abg2 yang jual ni. Thank God cukup makanan to feed all of our hungry tummies! Yeah, we were still hungrieh when we attacked the laksa stall! Well, kata kan foodie aites?

Fresh, Fresh and Fresh! That is all I can say about the Laksa! Rasa dia sangat2 lain and fresh! The broth was the highlight of our laksa! Cukup rasa, cukup ikan, cukup manis! :D

Seeeeeeee.... even Hannah Pearson enjoyed the food! Great knowing these people who loves to eat, travel and write! It was just amazing! :') *hands down*

Selangorlicious Eat Out was a Success! Thumbs up Dian and team! HUGSIEs

GoMakan.com Launching at Neverland Club, KL.

Well, last night I was invite to GoMakan.com 's grand launching at NeverLand Club, KL. GoMakan.com is an online restaurant and food reviews website.

"Search, Fave and Experience the best dining in all of Malaysia with GoMakan.com, Malaysia's Best Food Directory showcasing the best restaurants in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley.

Explore our various useful features such as Inspiration Search (when you absolutely need WiFi, or you're looking for the best Japanese Food ), and Occasion Search (try Chill Out or even Football Night! )."

This is Ivevei Upatkoon, the lady who started GoMakan.com with her brother as well as  another friend. They are so young! Am so inspired by their entrepreneurship spirit! Support local Start- ups!

There were a few vendors at the launching; from pastries to ice-cream. Seriously semalam dah macam "food orgy". Haha...  Instead of eating, I rasa2 jer.. tak mampu kot nak makan all the food. Even that pon, nibbling dah kenyang giler!

Mr Siew Bao !

Out of all vendors, the food yang managed to capture my attention is Mr Siew Bao! All my life, mati2 ingat Mr Siew Bao ni non-halal. Boyyyy...weren't I glad to see the halal sign!? I was smiling all over when I knew I can taste their products!

My friends and I tried almost everything on the tray. From Original Siew Bao to the Pineapple Tart! Just some photos to show how crazy we were over their pastries! Honestly, one of the best I've tried in my lifetime.

But their best product of the night would be their Portuguese Egg Tart. Dah lah aku ambik satu jer and then the girls like it and EAT IT ALL! When I went back to the counter, they already ran out of their Famous Portuguese Egg Tart. =.="

Their Portuguese Egg Tart is silky, smooth, very creamy and just complements their pastry. It is just out of this world! (terliur pulak aku time aku tulis ni! cheett!! )

Besides their fresh daily made pastries, My Siew Bao also have products such as biscuits, nougats and various more. I brought home one piece of their nougat and gave it to my sister, she loves it so much that she asked for me. Oi adik, mana mau dapat lagi lah! =.="

If you want to try their Siew Bao, bolehlah korang gi kat Sunway Pyramid. They have an outlet there just besides the Maxis centre. And now worries my fellow Muslim readers, disah kan Halal. So jom O nom nom Mr Siew Bao!

WrapStarzz!

Another thing that aku managed try is WrapStarzz ! They were offering cupcakes, macaron! and their speciality; The Wrap! It uber delicious and you can get hold of the OSOME Macaron kat Wangsa Walk! Korang patut cuba! :D

You can try all the food and find more information about them on GoMakan.com! Jom o nom noms at Mr Siew Bao and WrapStarzz! :D

Thank you RapidKL Personnel.

Please share this so people can know his kindness.

Alhamdullilah! I'm Alive!

Yesterday, at approx 10pm, I was on my way to Pasar Seni from KLCC to head home after attending GoMakan.com event. After leaving the event, I already felt something was not right but as usual I tend to just ignore it.

In the train, my friends realized that I was getting pale and by that time I was out of control of my breathing; I was having a severe Shortness of Breath (SOB).

We made a stop at Kampung Baru station as I remembered a nearby hospital.  As I was rushed to the counter area, my friends tried to get help for me , finding cab or whatever to get me there pronto.

As it was very late, finding a cab was rather impossible. Out of the blue, one RapidKL personnel (a police) took his bike key and asked me to hop on his bike. He drove me as fast and safely possible to get me to the nearby hospital.

Since I was rather very very panic because I couldn't feel whether I was breathing or not. I left everything with my friends including my mobile phone. I asked them to call anyone possible.

This RapidKL personnel not only waited for me, consistently checking on me while I was in the Emergency, he even when back to the LRT station to take my bag (full of gadgets from work!) and also my phone.

He was supposed to start working that time but he waited with me through my ordeals, called my family and consoling me. When his phone ran out of credit, he even went to top  -up so that he could contact my family and friends!

If it's not because of this man, I would have died at the LRT station. And because of him also, my family was informed. He is indeed a hero. I would like to give my hearties thank you and appreciation for helping me through my ordeal.

This man is Mohd Taufik Bin Ali Ramdan, Konst PB 68725 from Syarikat Prasarana (LRT RapidKL) who was stationed at LRT Kampung Baru on 22nd June 2012.  Thank you. :)

There I was and still am.

I might not be there,
but my heart is,
though am hurt,
there's never a moment that I forget about all of you,

We've been apart since I was little,
and now,
my nightmare is happening in daylight,
am seperated again,
with You and yOu and yes yoU too.

my years have never been the same,
since I departed,
it's empty,
though i find happiness sometimes,
through my pain,
it's never satisfying.

Sad thing isn't it?
We are all ego,
I have my ego,
you have it too,
but I don't blame all of you,
It's my fault,
I left; on my own will.

but I left because,
I was hurt,
I might be smiling,
I might be laughing,
I might be cheering people
from their misery,
but,
deep down, inside,
am dying;
am never able to smile, laugh and cheer myself.

I want to redeem myself,
I want to prove to you,
I will be the "me" that you wanted me to be;
though I have no idea how ideal you want "me" to be.

It has been 4 seasons twice,
coming to the third cycle now,
a few earthquakes,
some eclipses,
a few thunderstorms and
many millions seconds gone.

All I want now is to be home,
where I feel home.
One to call mine.
and be loved and to love.
and nothing else.

Overland Trip Thailand: Getting from Hat Yai to Krabi.

And am back! Sorry for the hiatus, been lazying around doing nothing.haha... Taklah, aku serious kemalasan melampau and busy attending ABAF ASIA, ngan adik aku accident lagi, and kakak aku accident kat Australia!Tu belum part aku sakit2..ish3.... Perghhh.... dugaan sungguh!

So back to backpacking!, today am gonna share with you how to get from Hat Yai to Krabi by Thailand local bus! Sangat2 adventurous! :D

For all kaki backpacking like me, route Hat Ya-Krabi ni is easy and safe. I survived to tell the tale. ;)

Akhbar and Zulia, newly wed couple on their way to Krabi! Ni lah the random people I travelled with.hehe
Oh dear God, see how Fat I was! looks like bloob of fatttt... T_T

The journey from Hat Yai Junction train station to Hat Yai Bus Station took about 20 minutes. And yeah, the tuk tuk or songtheaw does look like "lorry sayur" a bit. haha...thanks anon! ;)

We took something like this but without the cover.

Once we arrived, I went straight to the information counter. Remember, don't buy ticket from people/the touts, go to the counter and get your ticket ! ;)

Official government ticket counter. Plus these kakak2 are super friendly..hihi

The ticket from Hat Yai - Krabi was about 164 Baht, well cheaper than what I research for, it was 2nd class. Am not sure about the classes but I bet it's the duration of the travel. Sebab my time, they journey took almost 6 hours as the bus made a lot of stops.

Zaituna from Kazah, Julia and yours truly....

Time ni dah rasa macam Amazing Race lak...haha... Honestly I don't have any plan whatsoever when I landed myself in Thailand. Voila, there I was standing with strangers and having the chance to travel with them!

Zaituna from Kazakhstan is an AIESEC who was on her trip in SEA. Cikgu minah ni...hehe...special edu teacher! Salute2!

Ni lah Cha Yen pertama di bumi Thai ni... perghh...akak ni buat Cha Yen pakai mesin espresso beb!

See...terliur tak...slurpsss....

Ni lah the bus I took to krabi, bound for Phuket actually....
The condition in the bus, not bad...not bad for 164 Baht!
Dah lah aku tak suka naik bus long-haul ni, tido ngan buat tarapapa lah dalam bus. Chit-Chat ngan diorang ni pastu lentok habis. I think I woke when the made a stop at the rest area.

Lega giler bila tau stop ni ada makanan halal! Masakan Muslim area tuuu...pergh..memang aku melantak tak hinggat lah..haha... ye lah, my logic nanti susah nak dapat makanan halal dah.. hihi

The town we passed by along the journey.

You'll see a lot of this, people selling "holy flowers" to drivers on the highway.

Benda ni aku panggil lok lok, tah betul tah tak..haha... dah lah murah dari 5Baht to 15Baht yg paling mahal pon.

No worry, di sahkan halal on Jakim..hikhik...yo2 jer jakim tu rayyan oi..hihii

Route Hat Yai-Krabi ni easy peasy lah, I mean, not much harm done except that you have to avoid the touts at the train station. Other than that, I think you can do it! Gamateh ne!

When you arrive in Krabi, well not exactly Krabi lah, about 20 minutes away, make sure you take the Songtheaw/tuk tuk from the roadside, never ever ever take the one that is near to where your bus stop. They will charge you like crazy!

It's 20 Baht from bus station to Utarakit Rd, the Krabi town and 50- 60 Baht to Ao Nang, the beach side. Make sure you agree with the driver first before boarding.

Apa lagi eh, tunggu lah next entry boleh? haha... I stayed at Pak Up Hostel in Utarakit Rd, Krabi. Not bad lah...tunggguuu... haha

p/s: Sorry again for the long long hiatus.... ^^
